Your driver will meet you at your riad or hotel at 8:00a.m., and he'll take you to the car, depart and transport (8 hours) over the Middle Atlas mountains through the cedar forests of Ifrane, Midelt and the Ziz gorges towards Sahara, until the Erg Chebbi dunes appear on the horizon. Your destination is the auberge (small inn) 29km from Merzouga, where you'll meet your camel guide and ride 1.5 hours into the dunes at sunset to the bivouac (camp). Upon arrival in camp, you will have a traditional tagine dinner prepared under the evening stars. Climb the dunes and watch the moon rise before retiring to your bed in the nomad wool tent, or sleep out under the stars. Includes dinner and breakfast.Day 2
Return 1 hour by camel at sunrise to the auberge for breakfast and shower before going to Tinehir. Along the way you can visit a fossil workshop for a closer look at Sahara's wonderful varieties of ancient life. Take a walk through Todra Gorge, where sheer limestone walls rise to 300 m in its narrowest part. After lunch you can wander with a local guide* through palmeries, villages, gardens, and kasbahs for a close look at traditional Berber ways of life. Evening visit the market in Tinehir and old kasbah quarter. Stay in an old kasbah. Includes dinner and breakfast.

This morning you continue toward Marrakech and drive through the Valley of Roses, famous for the Persian rose oil, then the Skoura oasis before stopping for lunch at Ouarzazate. Next you'll explore the World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou. The village of clustered Berber Kasbahs has been used as a backdrop for more than 20 films and was one of the most important fortress strongholds on the old Salt Road where caravans brought slaves, gold, ivory and salt from Saharan Africa to Marrakech and beyond. Descend the High Atlas mountains Tichka pass to Marrakech, with time to stop and enjoy impressive landscapes, and coffee and fresh-squeezed orange juice. Arrive in Marrakech approximately 7 p.m.

After lunch you can wander with a local guide* through palmeries, villages, gardens, and kasbahs for a close look at traditional Berber ways of life. Your next destination (2 hours) is Ait Benhaddou. Along the way you'll drive off road (weather permitting) across the mountains to the remote village of Boutaghrah. You will pass through many Berber villages, and green riverside oasis and barren red hillsides clustered with kasbahs (fortified dwellings that house many families and their livestock). Villages sprinkle the Skoura oasis and the Valley of the Rose, famous for soft Persian rose oil - until Ouarzazate - and continue on to Ait Benhaddou. Spend the night in an auberge with views of Ait Benhaddou. Includes dinner and breakfast.Day 4

You can chill out in the dunes or the auberge, or take your car and driver for an off road tour around the Erg Chebbi*. Stop to visit Nomad families for tea if they are in the region, and you can explore as much as you wish. On route are the villages of Merzouga and Hamlia and you can stop and explore both.
