Thank
you very much for organising a fantastic trip for us. The people who showed
us around were outstanding and made our trip that much more enjoyable. Our
day with Thami was a laugh from beginning until end, he also has a brain full
of information about Fes. Salah was really a gem. We found him very easy to
talk to and he answered our questions about culture and history. We felt he
had become our friend. Hadu and Rashid were a pleasure and they also shared
their knowledge of culture and history of Morocco. Hadu was very patient with
my daughter and I shopping during our tour in Marrakech. Rashid made us feel
very safe driving through snow, rain and cliff hanging roads. We hope one
day we might be lucky enough to return to Morocco. I'll have no problem recommending
your tour company to friends and colleagues.

We
consider our time in Morocco as one of the most wonderful experiences ever.
Thanks, in no little measure, to you. I have attached some precious memories
to share with you. Regards,

We would like to let you know that we had a great trip with Morocco Explored... a very organized tour company and our trip itinerary ran smoothly. The four of us on the 5 days/4 nights desert tour were extremely pleased with your service and driver. All of us in our party were impressed with his excellent driving skills especially driving thru the Atlas Mountains region. We found our trip in the Land Cruiser very safe, relaxing and stress free. We enjoyed the music and entertainment.
You
treated us... with respect and kindness. We all learned a lot in the five
days. You were very accommodating when we wanted special stops or for having
different lunches. You were very professional, listened to us and were fun
to be with. It was a memorable trip.
After our five days of touring we were looking for a couple of days of R &
R; you recommended Sidi Kaouki, it was one of the highlights of our trip to
Morocco. The hotel, dinners and beach were out of this world. It was everything
you said it would be.
Thanks for making our trip to Morocco special. We would definitely use Morocco
Explored again and highly recommend to others.

Just
a quick note to let you know what a wonderful time we had with Morocco Explored.
Thank you for a truly magical experience in a beautiful country. Mom had a
wonderful 85th birthday. I will highly recommend your trips to anyone I know
heading in that direction. I hope to return to Morocco with the rest of my
family in the next few years.

My
significant other and I traveled to Morocco for 18 days, me for the first
time, my SO is an old hand at this country. This is a trip I've been dying
to go on for 15 years. I definitely wanted to do a camel trip to Erg Chebbi
but we were having a devil of a time finding a tour we felt comfortable with
-- that is, until I found Morocco Explored and spoke on the phone with Robbin
Yager.
Not only did she encourage us to explore the trip in a different way than
we were originally thinking, but she has continuously and graciously advised
me about other plans, even though her company's services are not involved.
I have changed our itinerary based on her recommendations and every one of
them have turned out superb.
In particular, I want to thank her forever for convincing us to go to Essaouria
rather than Agadir. She also suggested minimizing our time in Casablanca,
which was spot on. By the way, Morocco is absolutely fabulous... I will probably
come back again.

Tours
Throughout
these tours you will be immersed in Berber and desert cultures mingling
with modern ways of life, closely tied to ancient traditions. You will visit
souks (markets), Imperial cities, stay in medina riads, country auberge and
kasbahs. All transport
by a very comfortable large 4x4 cars with driver, gasoil, and air conditioning.
Tours leave and return to Marrakech and Fes or Casablanca,
minimum
of two persons.
We use small, family run hotels, auberge and riads (ensuite + air con)
that are of interest because of location, excellent food, and unique traditional
architecture. Generally speaking the food
in Morocco is excellent and reflects traditional cooking. Vegetarians welcome.

Day
1:
We will greet your arrival to Marrakech and transport to your medina
riad. Evening drums will draw you to the Djemaa El Fna (main city square).
It's a festival atmosphere, with snake charmers, Berber and Gnoua musicians,
and storytellers illuminated by lamplight and wreathed in smoke. Food stalls
on the square sell fresh salads, harrira (lentil and bean soups), fried fish
and chips, chicken and beef kebabs and even boiled snails or sheep's head
(a speciality that has its own dedicated stalls). Finish it off with a glass
of sweet cinnamon tea. Stay in Marrakech riad in the heart of the medina.
Day 2:
After breakfast, depart Marrakech (3 hours) crossing the spectacular Tizi
n’Tichka Pass of the High Atlas mountains for lunch in the
World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou. This village of clustered Berber
Kasbahs has been used as a backdrop for more than 20 films and was one of
the most important fortress strongholds on the old Salt Road where
caravans as brought slaves, gold, ivory and salt from Saharan Africa to Marrakech
and beyond. Stay in small elegant and very charming auberge in a remote Berber
village with terraces overlooking the garden oasis.
Day 3:
Depart and transport back over the High Atlas mountains and weather permitting,
will take a spectacualr and remote route to Ouzoud waterfalls. We will
stop and enjoy the impressive landscapes, have lunch, and explore a cave before
arriving at Cascades Ouzoud. The gorge is designated for bioreserve status.
Stroll the many trails, you may see Barbary apes and colourful birds
like the irridescent blue Roller. Stay in charming Ouzoud Riad with terraces
overlooking the waterfalls.
Day 4:
Transport 7 hours – this is our longest day - from Ouzoud to Fez.
We will stop and enjoy the views leaving the High Atlas for the bread basket
of Morocco, passing extensive olive groves and oil presses,
before climbing the Middle Atlas mountains for towns of Azrou
and Ifrane and reaching Fez. Stay in a beautiful old riad in the medina.
Day 5:
After breakfast, meet your guide for the day, and explore this ancient and
fascinating medina. The endless labyrinth of narrow streets is like no other
city, with hundreds of tiny shops, a dyers souk and craft manufacturers
who ply their trade in narrow medieval grottoes. Do not miss the leather
tanneries, still using techniques from ancient times, producing fine leather
in beautiful colours. Fez is also famous for its robust and beautiful pottery,
and it's regional cuisine. Stay Fez medina riad.
Day 6:
Return to Marrakech (7 hours). Stay Marrakech medina riad.
Day 7:
Your day in Marrakech. Visit the Majorelle gardens, Ben Youssef
Medersa and Marrakech Museum or one of the spas offering everything
from a traditional hammam to an extensive healthful menu. Afternoon explore
the vast Souk specialist areas e.g. metalwork, where crafters ply their
trade; handmade shoes of every kind; carpets, and carpet sellers enticing
you into their shops with a glass of mint tea; tiny shops selling old Berber
silver and African beads; sensual spices, olives, fresh herbs; and traditional
apothecaries, where you can buy all manner of ritual potions to heal or cast
spells of love or revenge. Stay Marrakech medina riad.
Day 8:
Stay Marrakech medina riad OR transport (3 hours) to Essaouira
and stay overnight at Sidi Kaouki beach or Essaouira riad (as below).
Day 9:
Transport (3 hours) to Essaouira on the Atlantic coast with an expansive
golden beach and fishing port. Old Portuguese ramparts guard the walled city,
where silver craftsmen and wood carvers work in one of the most
charming medinas in all of Morocco. Visit fish grills on the square,
or a Thuja wood craft shop or an art gallery. Learn about natural medicines
and cures, and watch women processing Argan nuts by hand into one of
the rarest oils in the world. Overnight at Sidi Kaouki beach (26 km
south of Essaouira) or Essaouira riad or return to Marrakech and stay medina
riad.
Day 10:
You will meet your taxi and be taken to the airport, and say goodbye to Morocco.
